Before Decently in Order ever existed, there was a season of searching. Early on, I launched a brand called Drip N' Shine Cosmetics, selling lip glosses and hair oils. But deep down, I had an inner knowing: This isn’t the vision. This isn’t the full story. I sold a few products, stepped away, and waited on God for what was next. At the time, I was working long shifts at Amazon. The physical toll was breaking my body, the warfare was heavy, and I was crying out to God, exhausted, knowing there had to be more.

"You survived by the mercy of God, who was with you always. You won."

Months before that sleepless night when everything finally came together on screen, a woman of God prophesied over me, sharing that she saw a lot of black and white concerning my life. Right as she spoke those words, a vision flashed before my eyes— I saw myself in black and white hitting a leap mid-air. It didn't fully click for me in that exact moment, but the very next day, the Lord began speaking into my spirit. Over and over again, I kept hearing Him repeat: "Minister of the Gospel... Minister of the Gospel... Minister of the Gospel." Ever since then, that word has stayed with me, planting the seed of MOTG: Firestarter deep in my spirit long before it ever became a print on clothing.

"Where there's a process, there's progress, and where there's progress, there's a promise right around the corner."

One night, unable to sleep, I opened up my design software. Years before, in middle school and high school, I had been a graphic designer. I pulled up a template and designed a phone case for myself with the letters MOTG—Minister of the Gospel. Then I designed a heavyweight hoodie. It had MOTG on the front, Fire Starter down the sleeves, and a Burning Bush on the back. I wasn’t trying to start a brand. I just wanted to wear my calling. But God was dropping a master key into my lap.

During that season of fatigue, God took me back to Exodus 3:14—the moment He called Moses from the burning bush. Early in my calling, I struggled with feeling unqualified to speak or share the Word because I didn’t go to seminary or have a formal degree. But God made it clear: “I AM HAS SENT ME.”

Later, while worshipping, I felt a physical holy fire fall on me. As I danced and praised Him, the Lord spoke directly to my heart: "You are My Fire Starter."

My 12 Stones of Help

Reflecting on my prayer journal from an earlier fast, I realized I had written down 12 specific prayers—asking God what business to start, how to start it, and asking for healing and deliverance. Looking back, God had answered every single one. Just like Joshua set up 12 stones at the Jordan River as a memorial of God's faithfulness (Joshua 4), those answered prayers became my 12 Stones of Help. I realized I wasn't just creating clothes for myself. God was calling me into entrepreneurship to build something greater: Decently in Order.
